College admissions data, 2026–27

Adjusted SAT score ranges, 2026–27

Colleges report SAT scores only for students who sent them. Counting everyone, the estimated middle 50% runs a median 30 points below the reported range across 730 colleges, up to 57 points at University of Hawaii at Manoa. Johns Hopkins has the highest adjusted range: 1520–1560.

Last updated Nov 2026Reported: each college's own Common Data Set middle 50% of SAT scores, which covers only students who submitted scores. Adjusted: a prefrosh.ai estimate for all enrolled students, built by lowering both ends of the reported range by a number of points estimated from the share of students who sent SAT and ACT scores and the size of the reported scores, rounded to 10. It is an estimate, not a figure any college publishes. Included: colleges where fewer than 75% of students sent SAT scores. ACT equivalent: the adjusted SAT range converted with the 2018 ACT and College Board SAT-ACT concordance table (act.org); the reported ACT is the college's own Common Data Set middle 50%. A dagger (†) marks colleges that now require tests but whose latest data describes a class admitted when tests were optional.

These are estimates. Colleges publish only the scores of students who sent them, and at test-optional colleges those students are usually the higher scorers, so the true middle of the class is lower than the reported range. The size of the adjustment is our estimate, not a college's figure. Compare your own scores with the adjusted range, and use the ACT column if you took the ACT: see your odds school by school. Colleges where 75% or more of students send SAT scores (Harvard and MIT, for example) need no adjustment and aren't listed. † marks colleges that now require tests but whose latest data covers a class admitted when tests were optional.
